Philanthropy

Philanthropic events and volunteering are some of the most rewarding experiences for the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha. Theta Tau realizes the impact service has on the community and our sisters are dedicated to making a difference any way they can. As a result, Theta Tau participates and coordinates numerous service events throughout the year.

Each fall, Theta Tau holds Think Pink Week on campus. The sisters of ZTA promote breast cancer research and awareness by handing out shower cards in the pit, delivering baked goods to the hospital, and holding a Yogurt Eating Contest in the quad.

You all outdid yourself this year. The ZTA campaign to increase breast cancer awareness was so effective and well received by our community. You all should be very proud to have organized such an impressive week of breast cancer awareness activities. Thanks, Hannah, for forwarding the photos of the yogurt eating contest. Isn't it wonderful how having a great time while doing something so worthwhile makes it even more sweet.

THANK YOU.THANK YOU.THANK YOU. for making all the wonderful treats for our patients and families. Everyone enjoyed them very much. What a perfect time to bring them.even adults feel like indulging in sweets around Halloween time. Goodie bags always bring out a lot of smiles. Many, many thanks to all the ZTA sisters for taking the time to bake and pack these special treats. They were greatly appreciated.
Thank you to the UNC-CH chapter of ZTA for continuing to support breast cancer awareness through your week of dedicated activities. Please extend our appreciation for your efforts to your national organization. You all deserve a tremendous round of applause.

This past February ZTA, together with the KA fraternity, hosted its third annual "Hoops for Hope" 3x3 Basketball Tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Breast Cancer research. The 3 v. 3 tournament was between 16 teams, and a pasta dinner followed at the ZTA house. The chapter was able to donate $1000 to the MDA.

And of course, a big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the ZTA 22nd Annual Franklin 5K a huge success this year! Turn out was great with over 800 participants showing up on race day. The proceeds of over $40,000 were donated Komen for the Cure, the ARC of Orange County, the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Care Center, and the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, Inc.
