Susan G. Komen for the Cure
The global leader for breast cancer research and awareness, Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 with the mission of ending breast cancer forever. This group sponsors a grassroots network of breast cancer activists and survivors who empower women battling cancer and work to make their lives better. The money ZTA donates to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in turn goes to doctors and researchers finding a cure for breast cancer.
The Arc of Orange County
The Arc of Orange County provides services and advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities. This organization works with people with these disabilities through education, advocacy and collaboration. WIth these facets, the Arc creates a quality support system for these individuals to participate in all areas of the community.
UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Care Center
UNC Lineberger is working to make great strides for cancer research and awareness. UNC Lineberger is at the forefront of a collaborative effort in the battle against cancer. In addition to treating cancer patients, UNC Lineberger conducts research on the cause of cancer and new forms of treatment and develops statewide programs to promote cancer prevention.
The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation
The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation was created to fulfill the founding principles of our sorority. The ZTA Foundation provides support for various educational and philanthropic services. The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, Inc. funds the survivor tents at Susan G. Komen for the Cure races.
Ashton's Angels
Ashton's Angels was created in order to honor the last wish of one of our own ZTA members. With the funds donated, she was able to go to Paris for New Year's. She lost her battle with a particularly aggressive form of childhood cancer in the spring of 2010. Ashton's Angels is now a charity dedicated to increase childhood cancer awareness and help the children who have been diagnosed with childhood cancer.
